What File Express can do
The basic principle of File Express is simple: upload files or folders, configure settings, start a transfer and share the link – that’s it! Recipients can download the data straight from the browser, whether they receive the link via e-mail, messenger or another channel. There are no limits to the file format. Anything is possible: from documents and presentations to photos and videos to other formats.
In addition to sending files, File Express offers more features that make it easier to exchange files on a day-to-day basis.

Request files
A free account allows you to send files and specifically request them. Simply create an upload link, send it to the people you would like to request files from and they can upload them right away. This is especially handy if you want to collect files from different people, such as wedding or holiday photos. -
Manage transfers
Clear transfer management ensures that you always have an overview. See when files have been uploaded or downloaded, and by who, and adjust transfers as needed, share them again, change the expiration dates, or deactivate them. -
Use contacts and groups
Contacts and groups can be managed for regular data exchanges. This makes sharing files with the same people much easier and better structured.
File Express also relies on clear protection mechanisms when it comes to security: all data is stored and encrypted exclusively on Hostpoint servers in Switzerland. If you want even better protection for your files, you can benefit from additional features such as password protection, geo-blocking and end-to-end encryption, depending on your subscription.
Like all Hostpoint products, the app is available in German, English, French and Italian. The service is complemented by a comprehensive Help Center and Hostpoint support, which is available by e-mail and phone seven days a week, depending on your subscription. File Express is also completely ad-free – for a pleasant user experience without distractions.
Who is File Express suitable for?
File Express is aimed at anyone who wants their files to arrive reliably and without detours. Our four different levels are suitable for both occasional and regular file transfers and differ in terms of storage space, functionality and security:

Without a user account, five transfers, each with a maximum of 5 GB and an availability of seven days are included per month. This is especially well-suited to personal use, for example sharing photos from a birthday party or summer holidays with friends or family. -
FREE
Share up to 50 GB of files and make 100 transfers per month with a FREE account. In addition, in your own account, all transfers can be tracked, re-sent or deactivated if necessary. Ideal if you work with larger amounts of data more often and want to keep track of your transfers while working in a team. -
PLUS
Do you need more than that, and additional features? Then the PLUS subscription is right for you. Get an unlimited number of file transfers, 500 GB of storage space and features such as geo-blocking and configurable e-mail notifications for just CHF 9.00 per month. This is well-suited to business use, such as for agencies or architectural firms. -
PRO
The PRO subscription is the most comprehensive level of File Express. Benefit from 2 TB of storage space, transfer availability of up to one year and the option to encrypt transfers end-to-end for CHF 15.00 per month. Perfect for people or companies that regularly exchange sensitive data – such as law firms or accountancy firms.

The story behind the new service
File Express is a new service from Hostpoint based on a service with almost the same name, File-Express, from Swiss Cyber Gate. Using the existing platform, Hostpoint has developed a completely new application with a modern design and numerous attractive features. Ongoing investment in the further development of File Express is planned for the coming years.
Swiss Cyber Gate AG was founded in 2015 and has many years of experience with data transfer. Its enterprise solution serves well-known clients such as Helsana, Partners Group and InfoGuard. The company was fully acquired by Hostpoint in 2022.

It’s even easier for existing Hostpoint customers! With your Hostpoint ID, you can activate your FREE account and take advantage of the upgrade in just three steps:
- Open the File Express login page.
- Enter the e-mail address for your Hostpoint ID and your password.
- Click on “Log in”.
After logging in, you can start sending or requesting files right away. Your File Express account will be linked to your Hostpoint ID in the background and your personal details, such as your address and payment method, will be transferred automatically.
