Anyone can register a domain with the .ch extension:
You don’t need to live in Switzerland or have your company headquarters here to register a .ch domain. This makes .ch suitable for anyone who wants to emphasize their connection to Switzerland with a suitable domain extension.
Swiss companies, organizations and private individuals can establish a strong online presence in Switzerland with a .ch domain. Owners of .ch domains are immediately associated with Switzerland and build trust with their visitors.
In the first year, a .ch domain costs CHF 5 incl. VAT. From the second year onward, the domain costs CHF 15 incl. VAT.
In principle, all domain names with between one and 63 characters can be registered. Permitted characters are letters (a to z, including umlauts ä, ö, ü), numbers (0 to 9) and hyphens. Please note that additional requirements may apply to generic terms.
If your desired .ch domain is already registered, you can tweak the name slightly or choose a different domain extension. For Swiss-related domains, the ending .swiss is a good option here.
