We operate and monitor these common services for you, and we always keep them up to date.
On the Managed Flex Server, you can install your own applications and manage them yourself as a customer. With «custom service control» you can have them start and stop automatically during server reboots or when maintenance work is carried out.
But you can operate just about any application or your own developments if they are based on a supported programming language, or can be run on our Unix platform (FreeBSD). You are responsible for these applications, and we offer no application-specific support for them. Examples include:

Drupal is programmed in PHP and uses MariaDB or similar database applications. This makes it possible to create complex content that can easily be customized using the backend editor.

For maximum system stability, we back up your data on multiple levels. Your data environment is also safeguarded against lost or accidentally deleted data, which can be restored for up to 180 days.
Our storage cluster solutions connect multiple separate clusters via a fast internal network with all web, mail, database and administration servers. The clusters store all customer data on external disk arrays and mirror them in another room (separate fire protection zone). The disk arrays are identical and also redundantly configured to always prevent loss of data even if an individual disk or disk array fails. This method guarantees maximum data security and system stability.
Hourly snapshots are made of all web, e-mail and MySQL data. These snapshots are backed up for one day so that any data that has been changed or deleted unintentionally in the last 24 hours can be restored to a specific hour.
With Flex Server S, your web, e-mail and databases are backed up for 30 days. With Flex Server M, data can be restored for up to 60 days. With Flex Server L and higher, recovery is available for up to 180 days. Your data is backed up hourly during the first 24 hours. During the first two weeks, backups are then carried out four times a day. From the 15th through the 30th day, your data is backed up once daily. After that, backups are weekly. From the first to sixth month, backups are carried out once a week. All data is stored exclusively in Switzerland.

We operate our own, independent network. While developing it, our main focus was on redundancy, stability and speed. The network is connected to the Internet via two high-performance Cisco routers. Each has a connection with two separate carriers and peering partners. This setup is known as “multihoming.” Even if one router fails, the Hostpoint network can be accessed without interruption via the second router. If the connection to one carrier is interrupted, both routers can route data via the other carrier.
